Easel is a visual design tool built for the web. Since the web is viewed in a browser, we believe it should be built in one too.

New: Object Background Images and Individual Borders

We’re excited to release two new features today: the ability to add background images to elements, and the ability to edit individual borders on an element.

Add Background Images to Elements

Objects now accept background images! To change an item’s background image, look for the ‘Background’ section in the inspector (the panel on the right) under which there is now an ‘Upload’ button. To upload a file: click, select your file, and it will appear as the background of the currently selected element.

This is feature is pretty handy when used with transparent textures. After adding any of these textures, you can still edit the background color and the texture will adapt to the new color. These 150 transparent textures are a great way to try this out.

Individual Borders
